Burton Park

In 1997, OCA was commissioned to carry out a major review of Burton Park, its history and its proposed restoration.  A comprehensive survey was carried out and research was done into the history of the house, which transpires to have been built in 1696.  There are extensive underground works and passages around the house and currently applications have been made to the Heritage Council and to Cork County Council for financial assistance towards the restoration of the fine roof.  Detailed research has been done into the history of the building, including the discovery of all the Contract documents for the restoration of the house in early 1903, by Mr Mark Ritchie of the Architectural Conservation Company.

A major refurbishment scheme is now being considered and this work will be carried out in a number of phases over the next decade or so.
