Church of Ireland, Roscommon

Built in the early 17th Century, the present Church of Ireland was altered and extended.  Part of the original structure is reputed to have been assembled from the remains of the former Dominican Abbey nearby or an Augustinian Abbey on  the same site.

A refurbishing scheme of the Tower and the restoration of the Bells and the Clock were carried out to commemorate the Millennium.  The restoration work was financially supported by the Heritage Council and Roscommon County Council.  OCA had been commissioned to carry out further works for the Roscommon Select Vestry.
