Famine Memorial

OCA was appointed to design the County Famine Memorial Garden in Roscommon Town, which was opened by President Mary McAleese in Summer 1999.  The Concept was to use stones rescued from a late 19^th Century School, which was had been demolished and these were re-erected as part of a Memorial to the Famine, adjacent to the Sacred Heart Home in Roscommon Town.
