Knocktopher Hall

Vicarsfield Rectory was initially constructed in 1739 and has been altered and extended over the last 250 years.  The house was the Rectory for the Parish of Knocktopher and in recent times was renamed Knocktopher Hall.  The structure is 2-storey over basement, where portion of the basement walls are up to 2 metres thick.  It is suggested that Knocktopher Hall was built on the foundations of Whyte’s Castle.

OCA were commissioned in 1999 to carry out a comprehensive survey of the property, including out-buildings and lands.  This has been completed and is available.  The house is to be refurbished and extended and turned into a tourist destination with high quality accommodation.
